recently dined at this Italian restaurant and had a fantastic experience! The cozy interior creates a warm ambiance, but the outdoor seating, with its stunning views, made for an unforgettable setting. The service was outstanding—attentive and friendly. I ordered the red sangria and pasta alla vodka, both of which were absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back!

If you are tired of the same old Italian chain restaurant flavors, definitely give this local restaurant a try. The garlic knots start the meal, and are excellent. A small fresh side salad is included with all entrée's with excellent homemade dressing choices. We had the chicken marsala, and the flavor was just spectacular. We also tried the Chicken Contadina, with its garlic, white wine and lemon sauce. Also definitely a recommended dish. The only items keeping me from leaving five stars were the vibe unfortunately feels a little budget, and the location certainly contributes to that, being in a strip mall, and like many restaurants Sal's is still struggling post covid to find quality help that matches their food quality. All in all definitely worth a try!

Delicious food and wonderful ambiance. The waitress was very attentive and friendly, she had great recommendations. She kept our drinks filled and the wait for food was not long at all. Highly recommend and will be returning. This salad hit the spot

We were visiting family in Roanoke for the first time and found this little gem of a restaurant. I am so glad we did! We were warmly greeted by the hostess, manager (I think), and server immediately upon arrival. Zachariah (our server) was just the right amount of attentive. The manager brought us our bottle of Saint M Riesling, which had a medium dry finish that perfectly accompanied our meal. We started with bruschetta, then salads, garlic knots, chicken piccata, manicotti, a chocolate-covered cannoli, and a ball of 2 types of gelato, cherry and almond dipped in chocolate! All were delicious and beautifully presented. This will definitely be “our place” in Roanoke!

Food was fantastic (those garlic knots...wow), service was good. Atmosphere was nostalgic and relaxed. Excellent Merlot wine. Just a great dining experience all around.
